The primary mission of Drago-I.S.I. is to add a tool to fight fires, but in a very innovative way in terms of approaching and controlling fire. Directly, the priorities of Drago-Engineering and Fire Safety are:

Testimonials.

Following several meetings in 2009 with people from Drago I.S.I., I witnessed the evolution and development of the gun. During these, I was given the opportunity to comment on certain technical aspects of the gun, but also to give my opinion on the needs and the potential reaction of the market to this new revolutionary gun.
Moreover, from my advanced knowledge of products and the field of fire for more than 22 years and having viewed videos of tests carried out at the CNDF in 2009, I can affirm that there is currently no gun with a projection of 100 feet and a flow rate of 500 Gallons per Minute (or less), which has the capacity of extinction like that of the cannon of DragoI.SI

To achieve effective extinguishing with water, it must be able to penetrate as much as possible into the combustion zone in order to lower its temperature. This cooling is done thanks to the high specific heat and vaporization of the water.
The finer the water droplets, the larger the contact surface area they can occupy with the burning molecules in a flame. The more they are, the faster they can invade and cool the burning area. The slower the flow rate, the more time the water will have to cool sufficiently.
On the other hand, if a jet of water is faster, it will have a greater range and will reach more distant areas. In this sense, I believe that the speed should be controllable: we increase it when the burning area is further or larger, we slow it down when the fire is smaller or closer.
When you can control droplet size and water jet velocity at the same time, you have the best of both worlds. In summary, this invention seems very effective.

My opinion on this gun is based on three things that I consider very important for any fire department or municipality.

First: saving water.
By mixing the water in droplets with air there will be much less water used, therefore less damage caused by it and also beneficial to the environment. Would be very effective for large buildings, especially if we consider the addition of an elevation system (increase in performance, increased capacity, added value in the attack or defense strategy); a scissor lift or preferably a basket or articulated arm.

Second: the reduction of the workforce.
The cannon cools the interior of the building and prevents personnel from entering it early or when there is a risk of subsidence, which has the effect of reducing the risk of injury
as well as labor cost.

Third: The acquisition of this cannon could be very profitable for municipalities and M.R.C.
The acquisition of this cannon could be very beneficial to municipalities because it could be used for various tasks such as: the use of the generator for emergency measures, as well as outdoor activities requiring the use of a lot of electricity. Also the cannon could be used for watering large areas (ice rink, soccer field etc.). The acquisition could be made by the M.R.C. and serve all the municipalities served by it.

Following an analysis of the new tool developed by the Company, the main advantage of the Drago cannon is based on its great strike force for firefighting in defensive mode in industrial, commercial and heritage buildings. The Drago cannon projects a mixture of water and air drops at a very high velocity and over a great distance, which gives it a truly superior striking force compared to the current lances that are commonly used today. In addition, this allows fire crews to stay a safe distance from the hot zone when the situation requires it. (Significant thermal radiation, spillage of hazardous materials, etc.)

It is also important to underline the additional advantage that the Drago cannon brings in several other sectors such as port, oil sector (refinery and high capacity tank park), forest and airport environment. These environments require a striking force and a very high heat absorption capacity. The Drago cannon would limit the damage and reduce the time needed to extinguish fires in these highly critical environments.
Another added value of the Drago cannon is its class A or B foam projection capacity which gives it additional potential.

I would add to finish, that the Drago cannon becomes a very interesting tool to limit the propagation by thermal radiation during a major fire which involves several buildings. The advantage that this tool would bring for the protection of neighboring buildings would be an undeniable added value.
